Will your USB
play there?

Studio 1 DJ Ban EMC · 4 decks CDJ-3000X · DJM-A9
the test you'd run in our studio, now at home.

You analyzed everything in Rekordbox, built the playlists, copied it to the USB, and at showtime the player won't read it. Plug in the USB, select the PIONEER folder and find out which gear it actually works on.

How did you format it?

Manual checklist

Folder structure

  • ·PIONEER/ folder at the root of the USB
  • ·Pioneer/rekordbox/export.pdb present
  • ·Pioneer/USBANLZ/ with .DAT and .EXT files
  • ·CDJ-3000X and OPUS-QUAD: exportLibrary.db required

Format (FAT32 / exFAT / HFS+)

  • ·FAT32: works on everything, 4GB per-file limit
  • ·exFAT: modern players (CDJ-3000, NXS2, XDJ-RX3…)
  • ·HFS+: Pioneer players that read Mac OS Extended
  • ·NTFS: not read by any Pioneer player

Partition scheme (not detectable here)

  • ·MBR (Master Boot Record): compatible with CDJs
  • ·GUID/GPT: can stop the CDJ from mounting the drive
  • ·Mac: Disk Utility → Info → Partition Map = Master Boot Record
  • ·Win: Disk Management → right-click → Properties

Audio quality

  • ·FLAC/ALAC: only CDJ-3000 and newer players
  • ·MP3 320kbps: universal
  • ·WAV/AIFF 44.1kHz: recommended for professional gigs
  • ·Names without : * ? < > | ; to avoid export failures

Most common CDJ / XDJ errors

  • ·E-8302: corrupted database. Delete export.pdb and re-export in Rekordbox.
  • ·E-8305: PIONEER folder not found. Check the folder structure.
  • ·E-8306: export.pdb error. Delete the file and re-export.
  • ·NO USB DETECTED: drive not mounted. Try another USB port or reformat.
  • ·Blank waveforms: USBANLZ missing. Re-export with analysis on in Rekordbox.
  • ·Emergency loop on: track with no beatgrid. Analyze the tracks in Rekordbox before exporting.
